The right framework conditions for producing green energy carriers are essential for us to succeed in our project to establish green ammonia production in Sauda. Furthermore, the demand side must also be in place. Today, fossil fuels are significantly cheaper than fossil-free alternatives. Therefore, for our customers to be able to choose green fuels, the price of these must be competitive with diesel or heavy fuel oil.
– Potential incentives to speed up the green shift are Contracts for Difference and stricter emissions requirements, says Torfinn Opheim, who looks forward to contributing to securing the necessary framework conditions that can enable the Iverson project to be realized as planned.
