Organization
Iverson eFuels AS is a project led by Hy2gen, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Trafigura. Hy2gen is an international company specialized in designing, building and operating green hydrogen and green hydrogen-based derivatives. CIP specializes in energy infrastructure investments and is among the largest fund managers globally within the field of renewable energy. Trafigura is one of the world’s leading independent commodity trading companies. The partners here mentioned are ready to invest in the project to ensure successful development and making project vision a reality. A full project team is established to manage the project through the next phases of development and construction.
Project description
Iverson eFuels AS is a leading green ammonia project, deploying large-scale industrial use of electrolysis technology, at around 300 MW level. The hydrogen/ammonia plant will be powered by green electricity from renewable hydropower sources. Based on this CO2-free production process, Iverson will be able to offer green ammonia to the market for green fuels in the maritime sector.
Decarbonization
Iverson eFuels AS is spearheading the decarbonization of the maritime sector by making large volumes of green ammonia available. The project will seek to optimize efficient use of power and establish systems for local and regional circular processes.
The next generation of renewable energy
Iverson eFuels AS will be among the first green ammonia plants in Europe on a larger scale, contributing to the much-needed acceleration of the decarbonization journey towards carbon neutrality in 2050. In addition, it will be a key driver for the commercialization of a technology that can form the basis for the establishment of a hydrogen cluster in the region of Rogaland in Norway – the current energy capital of Norway.
