Organisation

Iverson eFuels is a project led by Hy2gen and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). Hy2gen specialises in designing, constructing, and operating green hydrogen production facilities and hydrogen-based derivatives. CIP, a global leader in renewable energy infrastructure, is one of the largest asset managers in this sector.

The partners are committed to investing in the Sauda project, ensuring a successful development to bring the project to life. An experienced and skilled team has been established to guide the project through the upcoming development and construction phases.

Project description

Iverson eFuels is an international frontrunner in large-scale green ammonia production, utilising approximately 300 MW of industrial electrolysis technology. The Sauda plant will be powered by renewable hydropower, enabling Iverson to supply substantial volumes of green ammonia to the maritime sector’s green fuel market via a CO2-free production process.

Decarbonisation

Iverson eFuels leads the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors by making large volumes of green ammonia available. The project aims to optimise efficient power use and establish systems for local and regional circular processes.

The next generation of renewable energy

Iverson eFuels will be one of Europe’s first large-scale green ammonia plants, supporting the maritime sector’s 2050 carbon neutrality goals. It will also be a key driver in commercialising related technologies, laying the foundation for a hydrogen cluster in the Rogaland region, Norway’s energy hub.
